Last year, I made some of my long-awaited dreams happen: hosting 3 transformative retreats, producing a heartfelt song, and launching a leadership program that impacted hundreds of people, while living in my favourite city.
Here’s something I’ve learned about dreams: they don’t have to start big.
One of my first entrepreneurial dreams began with honey—yes, natural honey!
Thirteen years ago, when I was stuck waiting for the “perfect” idea, I asked myself: What inspires me right now, in front of me?
The answer was simple—premium honey from my region.
It wasn’t a grand vision, but it was enough to start. I had no clue what to do next, but I loved the product, felt passionate, and needed to create income.
Selling honey turned into a modest business, teaching me invaluable lessons and helping me navigate two career transitions.
That small step taught me a profound truth: dreams aren’t about perfection—they’re about action.
Even the simplest beginnings can pave the way for transformation.
They require courage, patience, and a willingness to embrace discomfort.
As 2025, the Year of the Snake, approaches, it invites us to shed what no longer serves us and step into something fresh, flexible, and renewed—like shedding and renewing the skin.
I encourage you to give yourself a chance. Take a bold or even playful step toward something you’ve been dreaming about.
Not every dream we carry is truly ours—some are borrowed from what we think we “should” do. To uncover what truly inspires you, dig deeper.
Be honest. The simpler and more straightforward your inpsiration, the better.
Focus on what feels deeply important for this phase of your life.
Ask yourself “Why?” seven times to reveal the core of your desire.
Keep your big vision and deeper “why” as your guiding compass.
I always have my visual “essence” board that reminds of a big vision behind small steps.
2. Make Space In Your Life
Making your dreams reality requires creating time and energy.
So it’s important to be firm and let go what is no longer serves your life.
Dead things need to die.
Holding onto outdated commitments drains your energy and blocks new opportunities.
Letting go creates space for what’s aligned, energizing, and impactful.
Pay attention to what’s already alive within you—a whisper, a recurring thought, or a small idea you can’t shake.
Often, inspiration comes from what’s right in front of you. Many of my friends and clients started their companies by putting more energy into the services that were in demand and solving problems they were already helping with.
By focusing on what’s already alive and present, you can naturally invite the next phase of your journey to unfold.
You don’t need to have everything figured out—just take a step toward your dream.
It might be a conversation with the right person, moving toward remote work, pitching an idea, offering your product to 10 people, or investing in a skill.
When you’re surrounded by fruit trees, reaching for an apple is natural—it’s harder to find one in a desert.
Dreams can feel overwhelming when you think too far ahead.
If your vision seems too big, simplify it into a prototype or version 1.
Progress doesn’t happen overnight—it’s built one microstep at a time.
Break your dream into achievable pieces, and make it happen within the next 1–3 months.
6. Ask for Help
No hero’s journey is completed alone. Mentors, allies, and collaborators can help you navigate challenges and grow faster.
With the right support, you gain tools to take bold steps—even into the unknown—while feeling guided and empowered.
Help is all around you—don’t hesitate to reach ou
7. Commit to the Journey Itself
In product design, there’s a saying: “Don’t fall in love with the solution; fall in love with the problem.”
Your journey may take unexpected turns.
The role you envision or the dream you pursue might shift—and that’s okay.
What matters is your commitment to the process.
Big shifts don’t require massive action—they require consistent, intentional steps.
Dreams thrive in an expanded state.
It’s not just about achieving the goal—it’s about who you become along the way.
Pause often to celebrate your progress.
Practice embodying the feelings of “arriving” at your dream, right now.
When you align with joy in the present, you create the energy to sustain and expand your journey.
